Well, official week 2 was hard ... similar to how hard it is on The Biggest Loser, I think. They always have very small losses on their second and I feel the same way (I know this is the first official weigh-in of the challenge but it's 4 or 5 on mamavation for me). I've really watched by intake and output this week and only lost ONE POUND. Now, I am grateful for that because I weighed in a few days ago, I was flatlined - a big fat nothing, which was really depressing. I'm on Day 18 of NO SODA and I really do that is helping to not snack as much.
I sidestepped a major temptation at work (leftover meeting snacks, this time one of my favs - triple chocolate chewies). THANK YOU, LEAH, for kicking some sense into me!
I'm trying to find a Zumba class locally just for fun. I did buy two pedometers, and my 11yo DD and I are in daily competitions for highest number of steps. Now, our numbers are pathetically low right now (with full time work and art camp) but they can only get better. I need to decide on some super fun rewards for all our effort!
GOALS THIS WEEK: Drink my full 64+ oz water each day; at least 10k steps or the equivalent six out of seven days; MORE veggies and fruits (Veggie Contessa says so!)
SISTA OF THE WEEK: Shout out to Lori @gutimom for being the Sista of the Week! The Sista of the Week will receive an EA SPORTS Active "More Workouts" for the honor. One day, that will be ME!
BLOGGING CARNIVAL: This week's blogging carnival is sponsored by Chiquita Banana. They are giving away a VIB (Very Important Blogger) Basket, stuffed with all sorts of goodies. Be sure to join in the fun!

Way to go on no soda and your loss! Any loss is a good loss no matter how small! Keep moving forward! You can do this mama!
Woo hoo for no soda! Feels good, doesn't it??? Keep it up!
awesome job on no soda! I'm working on getting to that point. It's hard!
Don't be upset by only losing a pound because many sistas report a 1 pound loss each week and then they find that they have lost a ton of weight before they realize it!
Slow and steady wins the race!
Have a great week
Looking forward to seeing you tonight - I love that you're competing with your DD - SO cool. Getting the kids involved just makes it awesome for them and for us moms, doesn't it? Making fitness part of their everyday lives will make it SO much less stressful for them later.
Awesome job on the no soda! I love your idea of you and your daughter competing for most steps! How fun.
How fun that you and your daughter are competing for steps! GREAT way to incorporate fitness/activity into your family life.
And, congrats on the loss. Don't be disappointed about losing "just" a pound. A pound is a good loss -- 1-2 lbs per week is what's normal.
Continuing good luck to you!!! It's certainly not an easy thing to go about changing---take it slowly, give yourself some lee-way, and you'll do great!

Way to get your DD involved with your steps! That's so cool! 1 pound is still a good loss, because it's one less pound to your goal weight :)

Awesome fun to have a competition with your DD! Great way to keep you both active.
I know we feel extra pressure when in a "competition" to lose weight. But don't beat yourself up. A pound a week is an AWESOME weight loss rate!!
Keep up the great work!
