Quick Book Review/Giveaway - Think of a Number

I've been lucky enough to receive several books to review and I'm so behind! While laid up on the couch sick today, I read an exciting thriller by a new author - what an honor to read a first novel!
I really liked it! It was very thought provoking, so I had to think some through a small fog of medications, but it was worth it.

Retired detective Dave Gurney gets pulled into a situation when he's contacted by an old college classmate with a problem. That problem blooms into a serial-killer drama with twists and turns that kept my interest throughout.

I'd love to read more about Dave and his wife Madeline, and how they finally cope with the death of their child 15 years ago by a drunk driver. Keep 'em coming, John Verdon!

This was part of "Read It Forward". If you'd like to be the next owner of this book, leave a comment below with your email address by midnight, Saturday 10/9. I'll use Random.org and the lucky winner will be contacted next weekend!

Almost done and had to fight with myself this morning not to call in "sick" to work so I could finish the book. Even blew off grocery shopping til the very end of the day so I could sit out in the sun and read undisturbed. It is terrific. A special thank you to Nelson DeMille for the recommendation. If this is Verdon's first novel, can't even imagine what his sophomore effort will be like. An intelligent, compelling read.
