Slow Progress

It's Mamavation time already! Well, I'm not exactly "kickin' it" like I thought, but a 1.5 pound loss is OKAY.
Seven pounds since starting with Mamavation.  I just know that some people can lose seven pounds in one week ... some will say that slow and steady is better to keep it off long term, but slow and steady probably won't win me $500 and those SHOES that I really want from Earth Footwear!

Goals this week:  use SparkPeople to track my exercise and calorie intake this week; drink my water; up the fruits/veggies.  We are headed to the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort and Spa to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary so you won't hear from me for a bit. =)  Happy Anniversary, Mike!!

@RachelSteffen, MY Fit Friend, is the Sista of the Week and she really deserves it!  CONGRATS RACHEL!!

This week's blogging carnival is sponsored by Gruve Solution.  LOVE them!!!  Go follow @Gruvesolution on Twitter right now and tell them @ShawneeH sent ya!  The Gruve is a handy little gadget that learns your body mechanics and then helps you burn more caloris throughout the day. Basically, it monitors how many calories you are burning and encourages you to burn more throughout the day by taking more steps, etc. And then it starts to vibrate on you when you are sitting too long.  Also, we LOVE Earth Footwear, Smooth Fitness, EA Sports Active, and Chefs Requested for being such wonderful sponsors! This campaign is what it is because of you!

Ya know the only time I lost albs in a week was the week I gave birth to my daughter - she was 6lbs 10oz of it. Large losses rarely result in staying off long term. 1.5 lbs may sound like a little, but 1-2lbs/wk over many weeks will really add up. Keep it up - you're doing awesome!!

Yeah some people lose a lot per week, however, most will only lost 1-2 pounds a week.

If you lost 1-2 pounds a week for a year that would be 52-104 pounds per year. Adds up over time!

Have a great week!

Girl you should totally be excited about 1.5 lbs. It is a good loss, any loss is good cuz it is moving you in the right direction. Remember the Move It lose It challenge is percentage based. Also you aren't just trying to lose weight to win great stuff, you are doing it to be healthy and teach your family to be healthy too.

Happy Anniversary!! Congrats

Don't be discouraged that you're not seeing numbers above 2 pounds . . . THOSE are fluke numbers. A good number is RIGHT what you're doing!

GOOD JOB!

Those numbers are great! Know that you are doing well, so many of us get down when we see little numbers, but know that those little numbers will add up to big ones!

Hey! Just stopped by from Mamavation to read your post!

Gosh! Seems like everyone is going out of town this week!! I just got back from a work trip and I am very happy to be back to my controlled environment where healthy food is the only option and my fitness buddies drag me to the gym~

Your 1.5lb loss is great! The more weight you have to lose the faster you can lose it, but I think that lossing 7lbs in one week would really only happen if you weighed much much more than you currently do! So stay positive! ... plus losing weight that fast doesn't give your skin time to adjust! You dont want extra loose skin do you? well I know I sure have plenty and would trade it anyday!

good luck this week! can't wait for your update next week!
