VANILLA SUGAR COOKIES

375 DEGREES/5-6 MINUTES
1 CUP BUTTER
1 CUP SUGAR
4 EGGS
2 TEASPOONS VANILLA
4 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
5 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR. ADD EGGS AND VANILLA, BEAT WELL. ADD BAKING POWDER AND FLOUR. MIX WELL. ROLL OUT DOUGH AND CUT 3/16 INCH THICK WITH FLOURED COOKIE CUTTER.
FREEZE OVERNIGHT. FROST AND FREEZE AGAIN! THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT - IF YOU DON’T FREEZE THEM, THEY TASTE LIKE FLOUR.
BUTTER CREAM FROSTING
6 TABLESPOONS BUTTER
1 LB. BOX POWDERED SUGAR, SIFTED(ABOUT 4 3/4 CUPS)
1/4 CUP CREAM OR MILK
1 1/2 TEASPOONS VANILLA
CREAM BUTTER, GRADUALLY ADD 1/2 THE POWDERED SUGAR, BLEND WELL. BEAT IN 2 TABLESPOONS CREAM AND THE VANILLA, GRADUALLY BLEND IN REMAINING POWDERED SUGAR AND CREAM/MILK UNTIL OF SPREADING CONSISTENCY. I TRY TO MAKE IT THIN ENOUGH SO I CAN DIP THE COOKIE IN AND SCRAPE OFF THE EXCESS WITH A KNIFE – THIS MAKES IT REALLY QUICK AND EASY TO FROST.
