Where has all the money gone??
You know, you hit a few Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and all of a sudden the food budget is nill! Anyone with me on that one?
So, I propose a little challenge for December. A pantry challenge is using your existing food stores and resources, your pantry, to make all of your meals. It is a challenge to not buy anything new from the grocery store to complete dinner from now until December 15, other than milk and fresh produce.
You can use anything from your freezer or pantry, so let's get creative. AND, count your savings! Blog about your menu and recipes, too, and let's encourage one another. Please blog about joining the challenge with a link back here, and sign up under MckLinky. Then, leave a comment. Woo hoo!

This is a great idea. i would so take part but my hubby is in charge of the kitchen. He even does most of the grocery shopping. I will suggest it to him though.Ü
Good luck, my cupboards are bare! lol Interesting to see how you do though. Nice idea.
Well, I am already doing your challenge and didn't even know there was one!
I am not going to make it til the 15th, but I will make it til the 11th...just by virtue of my shopping schedule :)
heehee....I do that all the time! I did it last year after Hurrican Gustav b/c I was afraid we'd lose everything in the freezer. Now I do it about once a quarter to keep things cleaned out. It a GREAT thing to do!
I just went shopping last night - already blew it! But I did spend less than $60 for my two weeks of groceries instead of the usual $150-$200. I will try to keep it going for the rest of the month. My pantry sure does need a good clean-out!
I took your challenge and knocked it outta the park!
I spent $48 (and that included breakfast and lunch items) for a family of 8 (seven of those eating real food)...and i don't really have to go shopping til next week. eek!
