Knit 1 Tea 2 Color Swap Questionnaire

Knit 1 Tea 2 Color Swap Questionnaire

  • Do you like loose tea or bags, or both – something you want to try? I've never had loose tea, so would especially love that along with tips from an expert.
  • What is your favorite kind of tea (Brand, flavor, variety, etc)? I'm new to tea, so nothing too strong flavored. I've recently been introduced to Chai Tea made with Soy at Starbucks. Yum.
  • Favorite color in regards to tea or one you would like to try? (black, green, red, and white) (keeping in mind that this is how this swap is set up). Well, I've never had red and it's one of my favorite colors so .....
  • Would you say you were a tea pot kind of person or just a hot water heater kind? I WANT to be a teapot person ... right now, I'm a lowly microwaver of water.
  • What tea accessories would you like but have never purchases for yourself? Truth to be told, I don't own much other than two decorative tea cups and saucers, and a beautiful tea tray. I can use it all! =)
  • How do you prefer to be pampered? (examples: mani/pedi, bubble bath, yummy treat, etc). If I'm pampering myself, I like to kick back, soft music, candles and spend some time reading.
  • If you were a kind of yarn what would you be and why? A multi-textured handspun ... a reflection of all the tugs and twists in my life turned into something beautiful.
  • If you had to knit/crochet baby booties, a fun fur scarf, or a fair isle sweater, which would you choose and why? The crocheted baby booties since it's a fast-results project that is useful yet I can be very creative with the pattern and yarn choices.
  • What other event would make you skip a tea party? (A garden party? A book club meeting? A yoga class? Opening night for a new action thriller? etc?) If I agreed to attend, I would only skip the party for a family emergency that no one else could handle.
  • What treat would you consider essential at your tea party? (Sweet? Salty? Scones? Those petite pastry trays with a couple of all sorts of things? Little crust less sandwiches?) I have a horrible sweet tooth, so petite fours or mini-cupcakes are more my style.
  • When buying yarn for a project how do you choose - do you buy the one called for or do you substitute? I've done both, but prefer to use the yarn a pattern was designed for if at all possible.
  • What do you carry your knitting/crocheting in when on the go? Adorable bags I've received from swaps!
  • Favorite movie to watch while knitting/crocheting? I love chick flicks that I can cry with ..
  • Are you a traditional tea cup kind of person or a mug type of person? Do you care if they match? I want to be a matching tea cup/saucer girlie-girl
  • Favorite childhood birthday party? We didn't really have parties, even though my parents spoiled me rotten with gifts.
  • Favorite type of scone and jam? Cranberry-orange scones, with any seedless jam.
  • If you use candles, what is your favorite scent? Peach or vanilla .. NOT flowery.
  • If you could choose 3 people to have 'tea' with, who would they be and why? (famous or not, living or dead). Mary Engelbreit, Nicky Epstein and YOU (my new friend)
  • You've been invited to a tea party, what 'props' will you wear (formal or casual)? I would LOVE to dress to the nines with lace gloves, a hat or perhaps a lacy handmade shawl.
  • Any allergies/preferences you have or are willing to admit to? Milk over dark chocolate, soy over cream, country over contemporary.
  • Anything we missed that you want your pal to know? I'm very excited to participate, and will learn as much as I can so I can also be a good swapper for my partner in return. In the yarn category, I'd love some SWTC Karaoke #306 for a new felted bag (haven't found any locally), or some Cherry Tree Hill merino. Thanks for reading!

I bought Book 7 Saturday morning, finished it Sunday night and am ready to re-read it! I was just sure that I would hear a spoiler and wanted to be done first. But, since I don't want to ruin anyone else's experience, no comments here for at least another week or two.

My downstream partner received her bag, so I feel safe to post this now -
Here's a picture of the felted crochet Beads, Welts and Popcorns Bag that I sent to Kris. This was only the second time I've used beads in a project, and I really like how this turned out!

Lookin' forward to ITE5!

Spring Felted Bag - Box 1

I am SO VERY blessed. I absolutely LOVE this package. I started squealing from opening the box and am still just on cloud 9. Look at this perfect "Mary Engelbreit Lover" package --- the amazing cherry tote is changeable with different snaps. The size is perfect for a project and I so love it. Then it was stuffed with goodies: three skeins of wonderful wool (ideas for a bag are percolating still), two pack of wonderful dish towels for my new kitchen, an AMAZING skein of soy silk yarn -- maybe a delicious summer scarf for me??? Also, two yummy votives with holders, ME postits/magnets/card and goodie box; sweets for my sweet tooth AND a mini-felted bag WITH HANDMADE crochet stitch markers. So wonderful!!! Thanks so much PAL!

Swap Update

I can FINALLY update my received swaps ... I have received some amazing booty and have been head over heels with moving details. Check these out:

No Sheep Swap - My darling partner sent amazing linen blend yarn, yummy treats, and a fabulous journal to track my swaps! And, she's promised hand-spun in the next box. I'm so lucky!

Crochetoholic Stitch Marker Swap -- Mary spoiled me wonderfully with these PERFECT stitch markers -- she's from Vegas and those are little dice!! Two soft skeins of red Divine yarn, special post-its and a journal for my bag. Thanks so much!!

BABE (Book and Bookmark Exchange) -- Pooch was wonderful to me; I even received a Mary Engelbreit POSTER last week from her. I am so lucky!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Pooch. What a delightful treat. I've wrapped it back up, and it's going straight to my new bedroom as a reward for when I finish with the movers tomorrow.

Real Picture

I'm happy to report my husband figured out how to transfer my pictures even without the MIA camera cord. HERE's my pre-felted bag for my ITE4 partner. I just finished the handles this morning, so will attach and felt later today. Yeah!! Now, if I could just mail off my late Spring Felted Bag Exchange package ...

Happy Fourth!

I'm so thankful for a day off ... Mike's off from driving, too, so it's doubly fun. A little unpacking, a little cooking, a little crochet .. what more could you ask for?

ITE4 Bag Almost Done

I'm so excited. I just finished crocheting a Beads Welts and Popcorns Felted Bag from Suzie's Stuff (picture is from her pattern). My partner's bag is purple instead of red with the black, and is very large right now. I just have to crochet the handles, attach and felt. Can't wait to see how it looks. I found the pattern on Mary/VegasAngelBrat's blog since she was tester.
As soon as I locate my camera cord (MOVING STINKS), I can't wait to post pre- and post-felting pictures.
