Status Report for New Year

I joined the WIP Crochet Along at Crochetville.org to try and get my act together.

Here's the list I have so far:

-Hubby's Felted Slippers (Christmas gift) 1% done
-Lacy Cocoon (30% done)
-Paton's Soy Wool Stripe Purse (needs handle - 95% done)
-Crystal Lace Bolero (80% done)
-Felted Messenger Bag (needs handle - 95% done)
-Nylon Shopping Bag (50% done)
-Snowflake Afghan CAL (need to finish joining and weave - 80% done)
-Sock Monkey Hat commission (need to weave ends, add eyes - 90% done)
-Skipping Stones Afghan commissions (waiting for yarns - 0% done)a

Kitty Hat

I had a co-worker who bought one of the Sock Monkey hats ask me for one that looks like Hello Kitty for her daughter. So, I put on my creativity cap and looked around for some ideas. The image on the left is from an eBay listing, and on the right is what I came up with. I love it! I'll have to make some more once I've recovered!

Sock Monkey Hats

I bought this fun pattern from Crochet Cabin that I saw on Crochetville.

I tweaked the pattern ever so slightly, and just love it. Took one to a Christmas (aka Holiday) party at work and got orders for four more, at $15 each! Isn't this a great pattern?!? Pictured is a co-worker who had the hat stolen from her, and my adorable daughter is on the right, making a goofy face.

I gotta get back to crocheting --- the orders are for Christmas gifts!

HappyHookers Secret Santa Exchange

I'm so overwhelmed!! I just got an email asking if I received my Secret Santa package from the HappyHookers list. Nothing yet, I reply. Well, apparently the kids DIDN'T get the mail yesterday, and I found a wonderful surprise from Canada on my way to church!! Crazeejanie outdid herself! I have a lovely bamboo wall calendar, two pattern books that I didn't own (Pretty Ponchos and Forever Denim), a handmade Christmas Tree hanging, a mischevious Grinch cross-stitch magnet, a sweet Angel applique kit, and Christmas Ornament and Present cotton dishcloth/potholder/trivets. THANKS SO MUCH!!! Merry Christmas to All!!

CAL Baby It's Cold Outside

I finished an adorable baby set today as part of Crochetville's Crochet Along for Baby It's Cold Outside. Since I've been loving the SnB Sock Monkey set, I put the monkey spin on the traditional set --- another gal had done the same thing and I thought it was an adorable idea! This set is for my friend who is the wife of our children's pastor, and I'd like to make another for a friend who just had child number four. They now have one girl with three younger boys, while we have one son followed by three daughters. Now if only someone would have a girl!! I have a set I'm almost done with in hot pink Bernat Softee Chunky with Soft Boucle in Misty Shades that I think looks like a luscious fur trim.
