Patons Soy Wool Stripe

I bought some of this new yarn, and I REALLY like it. The way the colors blend reminds of the Noro yarn that is perpetually out of stock at my LYS (and spendy). I made up this little pattern for a Baguette Bag. The ends turned out differently than I expected but I like it. I still need to create closure tabs and handles.

I got the best box in the mail yesterday!! Mini and I are exchange pals, and her autumn delight package included an adorable basket with a glass pumpkin, organic black Taso tea, patterns and the most gorgeous crocheted coasters in colors perfect for the season. New WIP - Lacy Cocoon

I have foolishly started another work in progress - the Interweave Crochet Lacy Cocoon. I found a new yarn, Red Heart Soft, that I really like and thought these colors are quite striking together. Not as attractive as the ones used in the magazine, but more likely for me to wear with my black-every-day wardrobe. OH, and please notice my NEW Brittany hook, bought at 25% off from my LYS Abundant Yarn and Dyeworks in Sellwood, OR.

Oregon State Winners!

I received results and won six ribbons at the State Fair - three 2nd place reds, and three 3rd place whites. No 1st Places, darn it! And, the one item that DID win first at my county fair didn't place at all, the lovely Ribbon Weave Tote. Oh well, that just means the competition is stiff in the Felted Bag category in Oregon.

My wearables are the SnB Unseamly Sweater made in a Blue Silk Tweed for 2nd Place in Women's Sweaters, the Spider Shrug made in Medium Pink Flash cotton for 2nd Place in Ponchos/Shrugs, and Chanson En Crochet made with Tangerine King Tut cotton for 3rd Place in Crochet Other.

My first amigurimi that we call Shelley the Snail made from simply soft took 3rd for Crochet Animal, my own design of Watermelon Cell Phone holder took a 3rd in Felted Other, and MOST EXCITING, my Freeform Purse in Creams/White won 2nd in Crochet Original Design.

Overall, I'm very excited and looking forward to next year!

Crystal Lace Bolero Update

I've also been working on the Crystal Lace Bolero crochet-along. This is made from a gorgeous Berroco Softwist and will be lovely. The pattern has some vagueness, so I'm struggling to finish assembly. And, as I learned with my spider shrug, the ribbing totally changes the garment, so I'm holding back on declaring victory until I'm actually finished. Here's an in-progress picture -- I have hundreds of ends to weave in!

Ice Cream Time!

I just love Neapolitain ice cream --- three delicious flavors so I don't have to choose just one. My newest felted bag reminds me of that tasty dessert. Tell me what you think. I modeled it off of this knitted Bubble Bag Pattern.

Yarn and Handles Selected, Pattern TBA

Here's the yarn and handles for my International Tote Exchange II project. I bought these gorgeous handles during a "Yarn Shop Hop" a few months ago for a special bag, and I think this is it! Still working the details for what I want the bag to look like. I prefer larger totes but have to keep the handles in proportion ....
